I do know that I used a rusty brown as the base coat and then applied a cocoa color on top. The rusty brown was just that, rusty looking. The brown applied to the top was a dark brown. The colors blended well. I am certain I used Rustoleum in a can. <br />Try this combo on a large, scrap piece of wood. I hope this helps.Christyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06892639830313793543noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2304911377945194348.post-24516620168490535362009-06-18T12:12:54.115-04:002009-06-18T12:12:54.115-04:00Can you list the colors you used? I have a few 'sample' boards to work on and getting frustrated and desperately need guidance.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2304911377945194348.post-45876384148626956272009-03-16T21:19:00.000-04:002009-03-16T21:19:00.000-04:00I love what you did. I apply a clear coat to just about everything I do just to protect it. I sanded them in one day. Painted and sponged second coat in one day-clear coated the next. So I believe it took about three days, a few hours per day.Christyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06892639830313793543noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2304911377945194348.post-62197571345268453882008-09-02T23:18:00.000-04:002008-09-02T23:18:00.000-04:00That looks great! We just love it and it gives a natural flow to the house. We have slightly different decorating in each room but the base is the same. :)Mavis D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13866402915101435501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2304911377945194348.post-13244235494456589372008-09-02T13:56:00.000-04:002008-09-02T13:56:00.000-04:00I LOVE this!
